Career Workshop - Saturday 7 November

You are invited to attend our next Career Workshop on Saturday, 7 November at 9:00 AM. Our topic is Networking and is the second of the series of four topics we teach.

Networking is how business is done these days. It is estimated that 70-80% of employment is obtained via networking. It is not always the person with the best experience who gets the job. It is the person who knows best how to get the job.

Please welcome any friends and associates to attend as well.

We meet at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 7118 Dutchland Pkwy, Liberty Township, OH 45044.

Thank you,
Mike Lupidi

LDSJOB.net IS BACK!

Employment Specialists et al -

Good news. Actually, GREAT news! The LDSJOB.net website is up and running again.

As you know, this is a small, regional boutique website designed so LDS members can help other members find jobs by posting leads on-line. Because the site has been down for several weeks, we need to re-populate it. May I ask each of you to contribute one new job lead this month. You may know about an opportunity or you know someone who does. Please canvas your ward and help get LDSJOB.net back up to speed by contributing at least one lead in April. While you could ask the contributor to do the data entry, I would appreciate it if you would go on-line yourself in order to ensure that it gets done quickly.

Adding a lead is as simple as logging onto the site, http://www.ldsjob.net/, entering your first name and email address and clicking on the 'Send a Job Lead' link. Then enter brief information about: (1) Job Title (2) Location (3) Description/Qualifications (4) Full or Part Time (5) Salary if known, and (6) Contact Information.

LDSJOB.net is THE site currently available for posting jobs in our region (MI, IN, OH, KY, PA, WVA, NY, Ontario, Quebec). It is NOT designed to be a massive site that replicates what is already available on the major job boards. It is designed for members-helping-members. Ideally, the leads on LDSJOB.net have an LDS connection...a member works for the company posting the job...he/she may even be willing to be a networking contact and share information about the corporate culture, the hiring authority, etc. An LDS employer may be looking for an employee with LDS standards. Or a Church member may know about a job because he calls on a company and has a contact within that firm.

Thank you for your patience. We encourage you to actively identify job leads and add them to LDSJOB.net routinely.

Regards,
Doug Mallory
